Looking for the best ways to experience the heart of our city? We’ve rounded up 8 must-attend downtown events that showcase the local flavor, fun, and community spirit you won’t want to miss. Whether you're into live music, festivals, or seasonal celebrations, there’s something here for everyone!
1. Wednesday Bites!
Each Wednesday from April through October the DDA brings food trucks to Town Square for the lunch hour from 11am-2pm! There’s no better way to enjoy lunch than with food truck food out in the sun! We also hire local musicians to play each Wednesday in June, July, and August along with some other exciting activities. Check out our full schedule at downtownforks.com/wednesday-bites and join us!
2. Town Square Farmer’s Market
Each Saturday from 9am-1pm June 14th - September 27th, Town Square is filled with local vendors at the Town Square Farmer’s Market! Enjoy baked goods, produce, local crafters, and more!
3. Cruz-In Forks Downtown Car Shows
Cruise into downtown for one of the awesome Cruz-In Forks Downtown Car Shows! Taking place the fourth Thursday every month June through September these shows are a must see! With cars from all different decades, you’re sure to see something new! Plus, enjoy live music after the July and September car shows in Town Square! Brick and Barley is hosting The Johnny Holm band July 24th and the DDA is hosting Tripwire at Tunes in Town Square on September 25th!
4. Johnny Holm Band in Town Square
Brick and Barley is bringing back the fan-favorite Johnny Holm band to Town Square on July 24th! Grab dinner at your favorite downtown spot then head to Town Square for live music, drinks, and fun at 7pm!
5. Grand Cities Celebration
Each year the Grand Forks Police Department hosts a community celebration! Last year was the first year it was hosted downtown and this year will again be hosted downtown in Town Square and along S 3rd Street on August 5th! Enjoy live music by Downtown Horns, touch-a-squad, interactive demos, games, food trucks, and more!
6. 10th Annual Downtown Street Fair
The Downtown Street Fair is the largest summer event in our region and has been filling the streets of downtown with food, live music, and family fun for 10 years! This two-day festival includes food trucks, local artists and craft vendors, Kidpreneurs, free art activities, live music & so much more! Check it out on August 22nd & 23rd! 7. UND Homecoming Pep Rally
We’ve got spirit yes we do, we’ve got spirit how about you? Head downtown for the fourth annual UND Homecoming Pep Rally in Town Square on Wednesday, September 17th! Enjoy the UND Pep Band, dance and cheer teams, kid activities, and more! This celebration is open to our entire community to celebrate our amazing university and all its homecoming festivities! Wear your #UNDproud green and bring your family and friends downtown for some fun!
8. Tunes in Town Square presented by Midco
Live music is back in the heart of downtown! Join us for Tunes in Town Square presented by Midco on Saturday, September 25 at 7pm. Formerly known as Blues on the Red, Tunes in Town Square is an outdoor concert that brings energy, great music, and community vibes to Downtown Grand Forks! Tripwire is an energetic, multi-genre band based in the upper Midwest! Known for their on-stage antics, dazzling choreography, and use of 10+ instruments spanning five decades of music. Come early, stay late, and enjoy a night of live music under the stars! Tickets go on sale August 1st!
